Newsflash:
Reading CERF & OFA #'s

IF a dog has an OFA number this means that the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals has reviewed x-rays of the dogs hips and has found them to be clear of hip dysplasia, and assigned them a rating. OFA numbers are good for the lifetime of the dog.

Example: BT1313E26F

  • BT = Belgian Tervuren

  • 1313 = the number of Tervs evaluated

  • F, G, E = the hip rating, Fair, Good, Excellent

  • 26 = the dog’s age in months when the x-rays were taken

  • F or M = the dog’s sex

Example: BT610/99-47
BT = Belgian Tervuren
610= the number of Tervs evaluated and submitted
99 = the year of the examination
47 = the age of the dog in months at the time of the exam
